FCV

OnEarth:

[Hyundai] plans to make 1,000 of the fuel-cell vehicles (FCVs) between now and 2015, then ramp up from there. A few weeks before the news from Hyundai hit, Daimler (Mercedes-Benz), Ford, and Nissan announced that they would collaborate on developing fuel-cell technology; the group’s goal is to produce 100,000 FCVs as soon as 2017.

I expect to be in the new car market in 2020 or so, judging by how long I held on to my last one. Maybe by then an FCV won’t be fantasy.

Delicious Fake Chicken

TechCrunch:

If you’ve flirted with vegetarianism like I have, then you’re probably aware of a range of meat substitutes, all of which pale in comparison to the real thing. But now Beyond Meat CEO and founder Ethan Brown says that mock meat is about 80 percent of the way to being able to sub in for the real thing without anyone being the wiser, in terms of taste, texture and appearance.

Actually, I ate a fake chicken sandwich tonight that didn’t pale at all in comparison with the real thing. It was seriously delicious.

Liquid Artistry

Robinsons’ Brewery:

“Not only do Iron Maiden genuinely enjoy a good pint of cask ale, but so do many of their fans – and they have an important part to play in our customer base. This partnership works for both of us. Music and beer are great treats for the senses in their own right, but the combination is very powerful. Authentic collaborations such as this are invaluable not only to our company but to the industry as a whole, because it shows that the world of real ale is more than just manufacturing, it is liquid artistry by the people who brew it – and for the people who drink it.”
